The Eco Larder is a social enterprise business model aiming to bring awareness of Zero Waste living to Edinburgh.
Publicity on this waste crisis is finally hitting the mainstream media and this is forcing governments to act. The concept of Zero Waste living has steadily grown alongside the waste crisis over recent years, but there is a long way to go and a huge shift in public awareness is needed to support a real change.
Zero Waste living fundamentally involves consumers minimising all ‘one use’ packaging in their household.
The Eco Larder will stock everyday household goods including dry foods, nuts, grains, spices, herbs, teas, cleaning products, toiletries, baby products and many more zero waste alternatives to everyday items.
The Eco Larder will provide a community shop and dispenser system to take these products home in any reused, recycled packaging owned by the consumer.
We aim for this Social Enterprise to garner a community spirit that can flourish and spread behaviours into more and more households in Edinburgh and beyond.
